Meet San Francisco Bay Area Winner Jenna Soares

Just across the Golden Gate Bridge and 20 miles north of San Francisco sits the town of San Anselmo, Calif., where the latest PURPLE-to-Perfect contest winner Jenna Soares lives.

Jenna grew up in the Sleepy Hollow neighborhood of San Anselmo and knew she wanted to bring her family of four back when the time was right. So when she and her husband, Steve, discovered a 1960s ranch two blocks from Jenna’s mother, they jumped at the chance to make it their dream home. With overgrown shrubs and outdated décor, the house definitely needed some TLC. The Soares have spent the last two years working their DIY magic to fix it up with modern, rustic details.

The hallway bathroom, which their two boys use, is one of the last rooms screaming for an upgrade. It is grimy, outdated and plain. With moldy caulking around the tub and shower and poor ventilation, Jenna entered the PURPLE-to-Perfect contest for extra help to make the bathroom safe and appealing.

Her son, Greyson, has asthma, and since mold and mildew can be a trigger for him, National Gypsum’s PURPLE® XP drywall will be a saving grace for their family.

The Soares are ready for Anitra to not only make this a space the boys can enjoy but also make their dream fixer upper complete.

Stay tuned for more as the Soares’ project gets underway.
