Meet Marine Corps Veteran John Blyzniuk

John Blyzniuk joined the U.S. Marine Corps at 19, because he wanted to do something he and his family could be proud of and show thanks to his country. Now, 33 years old, John is a medically retired sergeant, who lives in Sewell, New Jersey. After two tours in Iraq, he was diagnosed with a traumatic brain injury, PTSD, anxiety and depression. He’s a stay-at-home dad who enjoys working out because it’s therapeutic. But some days, his wife, Michelle, says his anxiety and depression are so overwhelming he can’t gather the strength to go to the gym. She wants him to have a space to call his own and asked PURPLE to make their cramped, two-car garage the perfect home gym for John’s workouts.

The National Gypsum team and local Fox 29 Philadelphia crew met the Blyzniuks and checked out their garage.

Stay tuned for project updates as Anitra Mecadon flexes her muscle to turn this deserving veteran’s garage into a hard-core home gym and man cave, using PURPLE Hi-Impact® XP® Drywall.
